I have to post about this because this is my daughter's poopy time...
My daughter has taken to the potty very well. She is very good at holding her pee pee until she reaches a potty and has already mastered the art of holding her bladder through the night, which she's been doing almost right from the beginning. She has yet to master poo poo in the potty.
I'm thankful to say, though, that she is smart enough to change herself into a diaper, poop in the diaper, and patiently wait until we come and change her. There have been a couple of times where this has been disastrous, but for most of the time, there is little mess.
So, how do I get her to poo in the potty and not in her diaper? At this point, if there are no diapers in her room, she poos in her panties and it's...it's...not fun. So, do I patiently wait for her to choose to poo in the potty or is there some other tactic you recommend?

Have you tried taking her to a toy store and picking out something and telling her she will get it when she poos in the potty? Or what about having her wear some special panties (Dora? Mickey? Elmo?) and telling her she doesn't want to get the character dirty? We just told Emma there were no more pull-ups and she's have to go in the potty. She didn't want to do it, but she didn't want to go in her panties, so that doesn't sound like it will work for you... Good luck!!
Both of my kids requested a diaper to poop in for a while after they mastered bladder control. I think this is perfectly normal. Personally, I would remain easy going about this and not push her too hard. She'll come around and eventually want to poop in the potty. Not sure if this helps, but this was my experience.
I would definitely talk to your pediatrician before trying this, but you can increase the fiber in her diet with a vitamin supplement. She may have some constipation issues and the obvious affects of fiber will decrease her ability to hold it and she may be able to go more easily on the potty. I currently have the opposite problem. Mine will poo and not pee...I prefer my shoes rather than yours...
David reads this blog from time to time, but I KNOW he will not read this entry simply because it is entitled "Poo Poo".
He does not like to get descriptions of things that are commonly found inside diapers.
Maybe you can try a new, irresistable flavor of M&Ms that she will be willing to potty for. ;-)
