Valentines Day...

Since we were going out of town for Valentine's Day, we decided to do a few fun little things for the kiddies before we left. So, last Thursday night, I made a heart-shaped pizza and cake and ate on plates with hearts all over them. We also gave them some little gifts that we thought they'd both like. Mallory was VERY excited about the cake (well, mainly the icing) and the fact that it was shaped like a heart. She's very much into shapes right now and was very excited to see the heart-shaped pizza and cake. Ethan didn't care what it looked like as long as it eventually made it onto his plate.

You should do this every year. Your kids will grow to love and look forward to the tradition. We do heart shaped pizza and heart shaped rice-krispie treats. Mallory may even like to help you decorate the table. I have heart shaped confetti that Anna made many years ago. I save it each year and she helps decorate every year. I also overheard Alex talking on the phone to a friend who invited him to the Toby Mac concert on Valentines night. He told his friend that he wouldn't be going because he spends Valentine's night with his family. He's 13 so I wonder how long that will last, but it sure made me feel good to hear him say that.

Last year I made a cake, too. I hope to keep the traditions going like you've done. I like the confetti idea...

Love ya! Thanks for the comment!
